British company Prime Transport Solutions is about to introduce it’s pneumatic landing gear on the European market. Although a European company, PTS preferred to introduce it’s landing gear in American and Australian markets in the first place.
The system taps air from the braking system. Still, there’s no need to interfere with EBS or any other electronics, to make these pneumatic landing legs work.
On a short term, the first Dutch company will start testing the new landing legs. According to PTS, these pneumatic landing legs save time, weight and fuel. The landing legs move quicker than when operated manually. As most driver’s leave their truck idling while operating the landing gear, the idling time reduces significantly, according to PTS. As you understand, this depends of course on the frequency of coupling and de-coupling the trailer.
Nevertheless, on average, PTS says, the investment in these landing legs is to be earned back within the first a year of purchase.
