With it’s hybrid driveline, Fuso has set a remarkable benchmark in sustainable technology. Now, it appears that Fuso develops a fully electric driveline. The trucks are developed in Portugal and this new E-Cell variant is going to be tested in the upcoming period of time in various cities in Portugal. The Fuso E-Cell is a six tonne truck with a three tonne load capacity.
Probable new customers may expect a truck with a 150hp electric motor, which gives an impressive 650 Newtonmeter of torque, all from idling speed onwards. Charging the batteries takes some seven hours and has to be completed with a 230 Volt charging station. The Lithium Ion batteries give 48,4 kWh, ensuring a range of about one hundred kilometres or sixty miles. The batteries are stored in boxes on both sides of the chassis, ensuring stability for the truck.
