Volvo launched the I-Shift with double clutch today. A system that makes shifting even faster than I-Shift already did, and that is the good news. People that drove the new system say the only thing you sense when gears are shifted is that the number of the gears on the display has changed. And off course the rev-counter that is a litle lower..
The I-Shift double clutch system is an option on the FH with the 13 liter engine with 460, 500 and 540 Hp. That means the I-Shift as we know it will still be the standard gearbox.
It all sounds spectacular and I’m hoping to drive it soon but is this the I-Torque that Volvo prommised earlyer? I don’t think so because the press release does not mention any changes on the engine. Does that mean the I-Torque is the monkey that Volvo keeps up the sleeve untill the IAA?
