Scania’s new and more powerful V8 is literally on it’s way as this picture shows. Here we see a truck featuring the new engine on a transporter. It’s obvious that this is the news Scania wanted to break at the IAA.
Scania already hinted to this new V8 late last year. An article appeared on their website telling that even in times of LNG-trucks, hybrids and electric trucks, the future of the V8 would be safe. Scania-CEO Henrik Henriksson said that average allowed weights in European countries went up. He was right. Sweden wnt from 64 to 74 tons, Finland even to 76 tons and the Dutch intend to start a test with double trailer combinations on 72 tons. Henriksson hinted that work had a strated on a new V8.
