The dash occupies less cab-room and the length of the cab seems unchanged: the bunk had to be cut out to save space for the driver’s chair, an often criticised point of Scania.
It is for sure now, that a new cab will be launched on top of the R-Series, the S-Series. This cab features a high roof and a flat cab floor. Scania claims that the engines coming with the new cab save five percent on fuel consumption. To meet current day requirements, Scania saw no other possibility than to come with an entirely new truck generation.
