Shortly after we saw the first pics of the Arocs, one of the many Iepieleaks spies which roam the European hotspots, sent me these splendid pictures of Merc’s new heavy hitter, the upcoming Titan Actros SLT. It looks stunning if you ask me; wonderful streamline, Big Space cab and the least we need to worry about is the power.
Without doubt this beauty is also equipped with the Turbocoupling Mercedes developed with Voith. This enables this little baby to pull with 3.000 Newtonmeters of torque when the engine is still on tickover. I wonder what engine will be equipped. I think it’s logical that the big V8 goes to the museum, while this SLT truck will be propelled by the new, mighty American designed OM 473 15,6 litre inline six.

Amerikaanse motor klopt niet helemaal het blok mag dan ontwikkeld wezen door Detroit in Amerika. De OM47x van Mercedes word grotendeels in Mannheim gebouwd met andere componenten.
Op sommige sites staat dat de OM473 minimaal 680pk gaat leveren.
Nog even afwachten dus.

Or maybe Arocs SLT rather… The headlights seemed to be adopted from the Antos.
Dit is de eerste keer dat ik hoor dat dit een knappe truck is.
De foto dat hier boven gepost is is een 8×6.
De vraag of de motoren van de OM473 hoger dan 625pk gaan gaan is maar de vraag. Voor baantrekkers denk ik van niet, in het geval van het uitzonderlijktransport hoop ik van wel. Met de OM473 zouden ze toch makkelijk 700 pk’s moeten mee halen
