Now here is a very special old photo. At the end of the eighties DAF was growing fast. The brand decided to stay with the last seven truckbrands in Europe and it even planned to take over the Britisch Leyland brand. Well, they did!
In the meanwhile Gorbatsjov was in charge in Russia and state owned truckmaker Kamaz was looking for expansion as well. The Russians were looking for a new, modern cab and that is where they found DAF. They tried to fit the DAF cab on a Kamaz chassis and the one on the photo you see here was the only one ever built. In fact the project never got any further than the test of this first truck. Nobody ever heard of the project again, until you found it on Iepieleaks, that is..
