On the Samoter 2014 show Iveco launched their new 16 liter, six-cylinder engine for the top of the range. The new FPT Cursor 16 engine has a rating up to 775 Hp and in a truck that would mean that Iveco beats Volvo with their FH16 sixpot with 750 Hp. Like all Iveco engines this new big one is SCR only. The new Cursor 16 comes with single or double stage versions with a max torque of 3500 Nm at 1400 revs. The new Cursor 16 already won the ‘Engine of the Year 2014 Award.’ Photo’s: Buzzybeeforum.nl

Met dubbele turbo zelfs 856 pk!!!
How long before the PACCAR group unveil a “Big” motor for DAF, Kenworth and Peterbilt?
Since Daf cancelled the 560 hp twin turbo variant of 12.9 liter engine I have not heard any rumours for a 15 or 16 liter engine.
I think it’s a good for paccar to developing a big engine but its to expensive for paccar Becourse they have not a industrial sale of the engine like Scania Volvo Mercedes.
Fpt/Iveco mainly development the engine for his own agriculture and construction equipment division the truck market is to small for a big engine.
Can someone explane why Daimlers OM473 delivers “only” 625 hp?
Probably because of pollution emissions or fuel usage being too high!?
But this engine is not to be used in trucks? It is intended for nonroad vehicles? Think to emission levels are to high for euro6 levels.
