American truckbrand International has been away from the Australian market but now there is an agreement that Iveco gets the rights to sell them Down Under. That is what we learn from BIGRIGS.COM, and that is a bit of a suprise since the Volkswagen Truck and Bus Group has a minority share in International. Both Volkswagen brands MAN and Scania are also sold on the Australian market.
Other European brands work together in Australia with the European trucks for the medium duty jobs and the Australian built American trucks for the real heavy Road Train aplications. Examples are Volvo and Mack and DAF and Kenworth. Iveco already has trucks for all segments, including the heavy jobs with the Powerstar with American Cummins engines up to 600 Hp.
