Scania unveils L- and P-Series

Scania introduced new trucks in de the light class. Apart from the well known P-cab, the Swedes also show a lower variant, the L-cab. Also, there’s a smaller engine of seven litres.

The L-series is Scania’s newly developed cab series for urban transport, such as distribution, refuse collection and maintenance. Drivers will, according to Scania,  benefit from improved direct vision of the surroundings. Drivers will also be at the same height as other road users, with the added advantage of improved working conditions when repeatedly entering and exiting the cab. The Scania L-series features a kneeling mode and lower and wider boarding steps on both sides of the cab. Drivers can also take advantage of the space in front of the engine tunnel to exit on the passenger side, thereby avoiding oncoming traffic.

Together with Cummins, Scania developed a seven litre engine which suits the L-Series. The new engine can do without EGR to meet Euro 6 regulations.Scania says with the smaller engine, it saves some 360 kgs compared to the nine litre engine. With all this news, Scania also officially introduces it’s 13 litre LNG engine, you already read about on Iepieleaks!   Watch the video below:
