Volvo Trucks takes over the Chinese truck manufactorer JMC for more than 100 milion Euro’s. JMC produces in the Shanxi area. Volvo is planning to start the production of Volvo Trucks in China for the huge domestic market. Production is planned to start in 2022. Up to now Volvo was involved in Dongfeng in China.
The Volvo Truck company has been active on the Chinese market since 1934. The Volvo plant in China is going to be a complete truck factory, so not only assembly. The JMC plant produced 4500 trucks last year, Volvo is planning to scale up to 15.000 units each year.
