Hungarian transport giant Waberer, formerly known as the state owned haulage company Hungarocamion, has ordered 600 trailers at Schmitz, Europe’s trailer market leader. This order follows from a previous order of 730 trailers.
In total, Waberer operates some 2,500 trailers from Schmitz in a fleet which has around 3.000 tractors. This makes Waberer one of the biggest transport companies in Europe. One of the reasons for the Hungarians to opt for Schmitz, is the fact that Germany is an important market for Waberer, featuring many loyal customers. Waberer has calculated, it will do ten percent more work in Germany than a year ago. Here’s why more trailers are ordered than previously thought of.
Waberer has reserved some ten million euro’s to invest in the renewal of it’s fleet. Apart from the Schmitz trailers, Waberer intends to buy some 700 tractor machines as well, mainly from MAN. The one in the picture is the new DAF, where Waberer also buys trucks.
