On the Chinese CIIE Exhibition in Shanghai the American company TuSimple presents an autonomous Scania 500S. Both company’s work together on autonomous driving since 2020 and this looks like a first public presentation.
An early prototype had racks on the roof with sensors but everything is now integrated in a new roof and windvisor design. The truck seems to be ready for Level 4 autonomous driving. That means a driver must be in the vehicle, ready to take over if the truck reaches area’s where autonomous driving is not possible.
