New Scania spotted with cameras

The long-awaited Scania update now really seems to be on its way, judging by these scoop photos. The camouflaged tractor unit is equipped with cameras, but unlike earlier prototypes they are mounted above the doors, as is the case with most brands.

Zooming in on the photo’s the camera system looks very familiar to the ones of the other famous Traton truck brand.

Previously, Scania showed a model with mirrors positioned below the side windows, an example later followed by Ford Trucks. Scania now appears to have moved away from that setup by mounting the cameras above the doors instead.

The photos also seem to reveal a revised grille, although it is difficult to see exactly what has changed due to the camouflage. Earlier, a heavily disguised Scania with a bulging front end was spotted, but there is no sign of that in these images.

All signs suggest that Scania is gearing up for the IAA, which will be held in September in Hannover. So it is still a matter of waiting, but it does seem clear that news is on the way.
