Mammoet Rallysport is testing the new Renault Trucks Sherpa rallytruck for the Dakar 2017. The previous Sherpa burnt down some time ago and the team worked very hard with MKR Adventure to build a new truck for the rally. At this moment Dutch pilot Martin van den Brink is testing the truck to get all the settings right for the rally.
The Renault Sherpa is basicly a military vehicle that still uses the ‘club of four’ cab. Off course the rally version has a complete different layout, driveline and suspension.
The Renault Rallytrucks proof to be very succesfull. Van den Brink already won stages in Silkway and Dakar rally with the Renault Trucks K- rallytruck. With the Sherpa the Olybia Rally and the Libya Rally were won.
Later this month the trucks will be shipped from France to Argentina for the rally. The start of the Dakar 2017 rally is on january 1.
