Mercedes Benz is launching new engines for the next generation of light- and midleweight trucks. We know these trucks as Atego and Axor but i don’t know if these names will stay.
From the spy photo’s we learn that the new small range, up to about 12 tons is going to be a facelifted Atego. The cab is basicly the same while the front is now in line with the new family face that started with the new Actros. For the bigger models the cab is going to be a smaller sized Actros cab.
For the light trucks there is now the OM 934, a four cilinder in line 5,1 liter engine. For the bigger small trucks there is the new OM 936 six cilinder in line engine with 7,7 liter. These two cover the output range between 156 and 326 hp. The new engines replace the 900 series.
