Mercedes-Benz has published pictures of the new concept cars on the VLE platform. With this modular platform for SUV’s and light commercial vehicles Mercedes gets into the future. When we look at the size this could just as well be the new Citan as the Vito replacement in the future. The Citan, production by Renault is going to stop next year as our spies told us.
The new VLE is an electric vehicle that was tested on a 1090 km long route from Stuttgart to Rome. This distance was covered in 13 hours, with only two charging sesions. The VLE has four wheel steering and is the base of a complete new line-up, from luxury SUV’s to basic vans.
