One of our Iepieleaks spies caught these DAF trucks, heading North on the A4 near Docksta in the North of Sweden. The DAF XD service truck gives away that this is not just a demotruck, driven by a costumer but this is a winter test.
Now, since DAF launched all their news the last months the question is what is there underneath the cab of the blue truck? Rumours say that DAF is working on a more powerfull engine with an output of 600 Hp plus. This could be one of the test trucks with that new engine, but the factory does not give away any details.
History repeating?
At this moment the MX13 engine with 530 Hp is the strongest that DAF has to offer. Rumours say that they are testing the Cummins ISX15 engine. A 14,9 liter engine with a power range between 400 and 600 Hp. For DAF that would not be the first time they use a Cummins engine for the top of the range. In 1994 DAF launched the 95.500 Super Space Cab with a 500 Hp Cummins diesel. On the picture below you see one of the remaining DAF 95.500 trucks.
