DAF Trucks increasingly becomes a globally acting truck brand. After having set up premises in Australia, Brazil and Russia, the Dutch truck manufacturer recently assembled it’s 2000th CF truck on the Isle of Taiwan.DAF sends the trucks as Semi Knocked Down to Taiwan, where the parts are being assembled at Formosa Automobiles Sales Corporation. In the past year, 700 DAF’s CF where assembled in this way and sold in Taiwan. This accounts for a marketshare of roughly a third in the Taiwanese heavy segment. Customers can choose from two and three axle drawbars and rigids.
DAF also assembles LF trucks in Taiwan. Customers can choose from a twelve tonne and a seventeen tonne variant. DAF has 22 sales and servicepoints on the island. The success in Taiwan proves DAF’s new role as a world truck brand.
