Shortly after finishing a brandnew plant in Bavaria, Chinese industrial conglomerate, specialised in the production of tank containers, quits a project to establish a new trailer brand ont the Europea market, CIMC Silvergreen. In the past months, at the small Bavarina town of Günzburg, a new head office was established, preceding the realisation of a completely new trailer factory. At the point where this new plant is actually finished, the Chinese CIMC company decides not to produce any trailer there for at least two years.
CIMC has invested some 30 million euro’s in this project. A workforce of 80 people has been trying to establish the new plant. By september, they were to be reinforced with a workforce of some 300 people, to start up trailer production. The new plant was etsablished at only five kilometres form the headquarters of another trailer manufacturer, namely Kögel. Some three years ago, Kögel went bankrupt and CIMC tried to buy the remains of the company, until, suprisingly, Kögel was bought by Humbaur.
At Iepieleaks, we already noticed that CIMC Silvergeen didn’t hire a stand at the international IAA truckshow, to be held in September upcoming. CIMC Silvergeen’s demise will leave a number of other companies in the group, like LAG, Burg Services and Burgers, completely unharmed. These companies will function as usual, a spokesman comfirmed to Iepieleaks.
