The next Dakar rally will be the race of the bonneted trucks. Not only the Iveco trucks of De Rooy will have a long nose, also the Kamaz trucks come with a bonnet. Kamaz is mounting the nose of the Mercedes Zetros for the comming rally. Completely new and suprising is the new bonneted Scania for team Dakarspeed. Driver Maurik van den Heuvel sold his DAF rallytruck and built his own Scania rallytruck. the Scania is fitted with Sisu axles, a MAN transfer case, a ZF gearbox and still a secret engine that is not Swedish..
The truck was presented earlyer this week during a special presentation for sponsors and relations of the team.
