At the New Dehli Autoshow Ashok Leyland introduced the new ‘Captain’ heavy truck. The Captain comes in different weight classes between 16 and 49 ton GVW and has engines from 160 up to 360 Hp. The modern looking cab has an adjustable steering column, airconditioning and a radio! The drivers seat has mechanical suspension.
The cab comes in Economy, Standard and Deluxe trims as short day cab, sleeper cab and high-roof sleeper. The truck presented at the show is a mining truck with a 9-speed gearbox, hub-reduction and heavy-duty bogie suspension.
