Scania is testing a new, streamlined front to comply with the latest European regulations for more safety and better aerodynamics. The Scania cab already has a tapered shape, with a narrower front than most trucks. To comply with the new regulations the front also has to lean backward. On the photo it is hard to see, but it looks like the front bumper is extended, and the grille is leaning a bit backward.
With this new, streamlined cab the XXL version is going to be legal in combination with 13,60 meter trailers. DAF was the first to comply to the new rules, and Volvo is also preparing a new, streamlined model.
