In Finland, a company dealing with vegetable transport has become a temporary allowance to try out a practice test with a double trailer combination, weghing up to 90 tonnes and realising a total length of 34 metres. The combination will be used in everyday transport and will save one transport ech time iit is on the road fully loaded. The trial with this roadtrain will last till the end of 2019.
Finnish authorities seek to make roadtransport more sustainable and they expect that longer and even heavier combinations like the ones allowed now, will lead to more savings in fuel and carbondioxide output. The picture clearly shows a three axle Volvo FH in front, which will have quite a handful on such a combination.
