Hybrid is the magic word at the moment, but is is not only for driving the vehicle. WVT in The Netherlands showed a prototype last year on the BedrijfsautoRAI exhibition in Amsterdam of the Hybrid PTO. It was a concrete mixer that was propelled by electrical power.
After a lot of testing the system is now completely ready and the first truck is sold to a costumer. It is not a concrete mixer, but a tipper with a hydraulic crane. The crane is driven by the Hybrid PTO, so it can be operated while the diesel engine is not running. Testing shows that almost every job can be done on electrical power. When the Lithium-Ion battery’s run out of power the diesel engine 
starts automaticly and takes over.
At the moment the last tests of the concrete mixer with the Hybrid PTO are in progress, and they also go in to production very soon.
