Steyr Automotive presents the Sitrak

On 25 september 2023 the last MAN truck left the factory in Steyr, Austria. Now, two and a half year later the production starts again with trucks with MAN cabs.

Steyr Automotive has made an agreement with Chinese truck producer CNHTC for the assembly of Sitrak trucks for Europe.

The first prototype was launched on 3 march 2026. The truck was build out of SKD modules, that were pre- assembled in China. In the future the factory is going to build trucks completely from CKD packages. By that time they are ‘made in Austria.’

Steyr Automotive is planning to build 600- up to 800 trucks this year for the European market with both diesel- and electric drivelines. The diesel engines are MAN D26 engines that are produced under licence in China. The cab has a new front, but is still recognizable as an MAN. The interior is completely Chinese and doesn’t look like the MAN TGX interior. Source: 40ton.net
