During a press event the new Mercedes eActros 400 was launched in Molsheim. The new e400 doesn’t look new, it has the narrow cab we all know with the Mercedes grille as before. We did espect Mercedes-Benz to come with the new ‘Procabin’ look, also for the eActros 400 but the design was not changed.
The eActros 400 combines the lower, narrow cab with the driveline of the e600 with the e-Axle, but with less batterys, up to 400 kWh capacity. That means the tractor units have a shorter, 370 cm wheelbase. The eActros 600 is 400 cm. Also the lower cab means a better entry over three steps. The range is up to about 350 km with 40 ton, and off course longer for rigids and lighter weights.
The eActros 400 can in some cases be equiped with the bigger ProCabin, but the eActros 600 is not available with the compact cab. Because of the length of all the technology under the cab a sleeper cab is standard for the eActros 400.
