DAF Trucks is working on the future models for the heavy truck series. There have been rumours for a long time about the new project but now one of the prototype trucks was spotted on the public roads in The Netherlands. The shape of the windscreen does look like the one we have seen the last 30 years but the roof is new. Also the side panels could be the ones of the current model.
We think this is the current bodywork with some new parts on it but there should be a completely new body in white also. That one is not seen on the open road yet. Soon we will know more, and until then, keep your camera’s standby! Photo: Willem van Heugten
UPDATE! A new photo was sent in by one of our Iepieleaks spies and that shows the rear of the cab. The chassis of the truck seems to be the same but all the camouflage does give us the impression something realy new is going on there! When we look at the mounting of the cab on the rear we see that the central part of the cab is lower than the orange cab we show here. This can mean only one thing: DAF is working on a flat floor cab for the future generation!
