America’s largest retailer WalMart has developed a spectacular truck that is lighter and more aerodynamic than everything we have seen so far. The so called WalMart Advanced Vehicle Experience has a 53 Ft carbon fiber trailer that was developed with trailer manufacturer Great Dane. This trailer is about 1500 kg lighter than a normal trailer.
The truck is a Peterbilt development and it has a gasturbine that feeds a Lithium Ion battery. Electrical engines drive the truck. With one charge the truck can travel about 500 miles, just a bit further than the LNG trucks that are on the road in the USA.
The truck has a centrally positioned drivers seat and there is also a sleeper cab on board. In the movie you can see some of the interior of the cab.
