The Geneva Motor Show features, apart from some exotic supercars, also a number of new vans. Showing in this picture is the passenger car version of the new Ford Courier, Fords small van which will be positioned under the next generation Transit Connect. Pictures of this new Transit Connect do not circulate, so please send us some if you this new and slightly bigger Ford.
In Birmingham, Ford will show the panel van version of the Courier, which will be built in Turkey. The new Courier will offer choice from two engines, a petrol 1.6 and a diesel 1.5 engine.
Also on show in Geneva was the Volkswagen e-co-Motion. This is an electric van with platform dimensions quite the same as the Caddy. However, the e-Co-Motion has the looks of a Transporter. It is obvious that manufacturers are highly interested in the segment of smaller vans. These are aimed at firms handling the distribution of goods bought online. We see that Volkswagen is clearly intending to bring out alternative drivelines, such as an electric van, whereas Ford, in the middle of a complete revamp of its van-line, sticks to the old petrol and diesel solutions.
