Daimler was for 15% owner of Kamaz but at the end of last year the Germans got a bigger share.
In the new Kamaz trucks we find Mercedes-Benz axles, engines and even cabs. Kamaz now uses the OM457 engine and bus engines from Mercedes. The diesel engines come as Euro5. Also there ar gas engines to be built in Kamaz vehicles.
For Daimler the Russian market is important. The growth is about seven percent a year and that is even more than in China at the moment.
Both Kamaz and Daimler have a joint venture in the production of Fusu trucks in Vostok.
Where it comes to the new models of Kamaz i don’t have a clou. On the Kamaz website there are only the old models. On the photo above we see the Mercedes Axor cab but on the photo’s below there seems to be a complete new, self designed cab. I must say it looks good. Enyone more info on this one?
I think there is 3 cabs offered by Kamaz :
– 5490 DMEC : http://www.kamaz.ru/ru/vehicle/restyling/hauler/5490/
– 5490 Mercedes : http://www.kamaz.ru/ru/vehicle/restyling/hauler/5490d/
– 5460 “old cab” : http://www.kamaz.ru/ru/vehicle/restyling/hauler/5460/
Hi,
Today kamaz cab has 2 options, one on mech suspension and since some 2 years airsuspension using same cab. This year a kamaz with axor cabin will be launched what will give kamaz a more w-european look. Then in parallel to this one is working on a new cab as well. If this one will ever see daylight might be questionable
