Volkswagen has introduced a CNG version of the VW Constellation 24.280. This biggest VW truck ever, introduced six years ago was presented now with a CNG system. Estimates for the prototype is a 20% reduction in nitrogen oxide and particulate emissions compared with certifiable diesel engines in Brazil. The CNG system should be compliant with the Euro 6 emissions standard and surpasses the current Euro 5 standard. With a range of up to 200 kilometres, the gas storage tank doesn’t change the load capacity of the truck in comparison to the diesel version. The CNG truck is a 12,5 ton vehicle. The Constellation range reaches up to above the 60 ton in Brazil.
